The performance from McGuinn makes this a wonderful piece.

That must be quite an old video; early 1990s, perhaps. The reason I guess so is the prominence of McGuinn's "King of the Hill." Enjoyable.

Interesting was McGuinn's 330/12LS in Azureglo. Didn't know they made a 12-string Lightshow. Maybe they made just one special for RM?

McGuinn's 331/12SF LS is JG in all the photos I've got. It was a one-off, a series 1, BTW. There was a good picture of it in Guitar Player's January 1992 issue, page 105, posed in front of a Transonic cabinet.

I love slanted frets. Omigosh, how cool can you get?

JH and I watched this at his house once on VHS. I spot Dick Burke's back in one shot, and Brian Carman playing the 355/12JL.

Those of you who have been here to RIC HQ, note in the footage of the factory that our upstairs sales & customer service office hadn't yet been built, and the area was being used for storage.

Great video with some nice shots of Ricks being built.

JH and Roger McGuinn look like really nice guys.

I especially like when JH is saying something like, "it's not the guitar for everyone, it's not like a Honda or Toyota. It has a very special function and place and I'd like to keep it that way."

The 371/12 AZ in the video is non-slant...guess he had two...

Now that I've watched most of it, you guys are right--the AZ LS shown in the vid is a non-slant fret. I seem to recall that the 12 SF LS was no longer in Roger's possession...can anyone verify or shed some light on this?

The SF LS, I understand, was typically used for only one number--the closing number in their set, "Eight Miles High", due to its penchant for heating up and burning the plastic faceplates.

Paul, from what I understand the SF LS was busted up badly when thrown across a stage sometime in '77, if memory serves. It was later restored and refined in JG, and is at the Rock n' Roll Hall of Fame.

BTW, I think it was under the possesion of Scott Jennings when the restoration was done.

Cool video, I enjoyed the factory bits, and Mcguinn of course!

But....he did tease us all holding the 331/12 LS plugged in and all, and not even a note or light appeared! What a tease..

and those weird desert/city driving sequences? The Japanese have some very strange taste it seems?

Cheers,
