With a twist...You're CEO of Rickenbacker, and you have the chance to revive ONE Rickenbacker model from the past...but only one! What would you choose?


I think I'd have to vote for a 360/12v65...one of the most coveted Rickenbackers, and never reissued.

360Fc60. Plus a special run of them in Blue Boy, please.

That's my #3 choice, Stan.

It's a tossup for me between the 375F or the 375 Capri. Make mine in Blue boy as well please. I'd probably prefer the later design 375F, but I could console myself with the earlier design if it were available.

If there's a minimum pre-order quantity required to get the ball rolling, I'll order more than one.

Combo 800.

As CEO of a company, I'd want minimal startup costs for any new product. This would rule out any new body shapes for the CNC or any specialist hardward (Sorry, no F, no Combo, no 450, no 4005).

It would need to appeal to a wide audience, therefore it must be a regular model (Sorry, no bantars, no banjolines, no lapsteels).

It would need to utilise the current skill set of the factory staff with minimal change to production (Sorry, no fancy colours, no acoustics).

It would need to fit into one of the standard vintage case sizes to avoid any extra inventory (Sorry no lighshow - thicker body means thicker case).

It would need to be different enough from the current models to warrant the extra production hassles, yet similar enough to use the current CNC files and stocked parts.

It would need to be considered a real classic Rickenbacker to bring back everybody's hankering for a new guitar.

There is only one model that fulfills these requirements...

Rose, Morris 1993.

(360/12C63 CNC file modified with the 1997 f-hole pattern. 1997 fretboard (or even a modern 330 board - is there any difference?). R-tailpiece to acheive the "different enough" from a 360/12C63 clause. Charge the same amount as a 360/12C63...)

I realise financing and practicality aren't supposed to come into fantasy, but I just want to make sure the best interests of the company always come first...

Actually I'm lying, I just want a 1993 for my own selfish reasons.

There is definitely a lot they can reissue on the cheap simply by altering the 360/12c63 slightly. I guess it would increase sales/backlog even more to do so.

1993/12 Rose Morris reissue like the ones from '87...plus a rerelease of the Rose Morris 1997 and 1997SPC pictures.
