Hi all,
Does anyone know whatever happened to Lennon's Sonic Blue Strat?
It was originally bought as one of a pair for John & George (both in the same colour).
George's of course was given the psychedelic paint treatment and became 'Rocky' of magical Mystery Tour fame, but does anyone know the fate of John's?

There's considerable speculation the guitar survived at least through the Imagine sessions, albeit with a maple neck.

Thanks Bill,
Yes, I noted a suspiciously similar coloured guitar on video footage from those sessions, but I was puzzled by the neck.
I guess it may have been swapped out for some reason. I wonder if Yoko still has it?

All I've read is that the whereabouts of the Strat are unknown. Someone else may have insight on who has their hands on it.

When I saw John and George recording "How Do You Sleep?" I thought, "Oh, George probably brought his Strat, set up for slide, to John's home." Then I realized the lack of DayGlo paint and "Patty's nail varnish."

Didn't think about the neck at the time...

That's as much as I've been able to uncover too.
He definitely liked to fiddle around modifying his guitars.
