RB120 sounds distorted

I just bought a RB120 for a cheap price knowing there was something wrong with it.

The amp sounds distorted, even on low volumes. The longer it is "on" the more distorted the sound becomes. Is this a "known" problem? Any ideas? Any things I can check myself?

I PM'ed him and the PM is still in my outbox. I can google him and find another email adress but somehow I dont feel this is right to bother someone with questions when someone decided not to be on this forum anymore.

But: I brought the amp to a tech. Yesterday I got news that the amp is ready. :) Only problem is that the tech lives on the other end of the country and we dont have time to go there during business hours coming month. But still: I now have two working Rickenbacker Bass amps. The last (and first?) tube, and the last Transistor ones. :)

Hi Bert. I didn't quit the Forum, I just got real busy at Bad Cat and couldn't tune in often enough to be reliably effective. I still love Rickenbacker amps and am glad to hear yours is working again. Somewhere (??) I still have loads of spares for those puppies. FYI, I still take in repairs, but not too many. I always welcome Rics though.
