Does anyone here use SmartScore to scan and transpose sheet music? If so, I would very much like to hear what you think of it.

Never used that one before, Peter. I use Sibelius.

John: It is the same idea as Sibelius. What do you think of it?

I've found that without a keyboard to input the notes, it can be extremely tedious work. For that, I have a 25-key M-Audio controller - you don't need something big, since octaves can be adjusted with a simple Apple+up or Apple+down (probably CTRL in place of Apple if you're on a PC).
What will you be using it for exactly, Peter?

John: I would like to use it for transposing sheet music, John. At least at this stage.

Sibelius PhotoScore's scanning capability is fairly good. There are always mistakes, some minor, some major (no pun intended). Easy to find if you use a built in midi player. I find the odd notes stand out to the ear faster than the eye.

I'm still a pencil and paper guy. I used Freestyle and Encore in the mid 90's, so I'm afraid what little knowledge I had is completely outdated, though I'm sure everyone here will chime in and help find you the write solution, Peter.
