Color usually depends on, guess what(?), ....color to get it's message across. With b&w it is the lack of color that brings out a greater expressiveness to the image, whether done with film or pixels. The contrast between the different shades of grey can effectively enhance the sharpness of a photograph. Look at your b&w conversion, there is not really a lot of snap to the image, but if you increase the contrast a bit, you will see that it looks "crisper" than the original, so to speak. Here is a quick example.

Right Ive got you Jeff! im going to see if any of the Pics of the wife can be crisped up!
Heres a little adjustment and thanks for the info!

That "Adjusted" photo looks darker and flatter (mostly in the pickguard) in contrast! What adjustments did you do and with what software? The PB controls? I am not familiar with those, I use Photoshop Elements 6, (can't justify CS3), which is quite inexpensive and offers a lot of control.

Jeff,i was just using photobucket and messing around with it.Im not that good with it as you can tell.

Practice makes perfect!

Things translate differently on different computers monitors, also, which is still an issue in this modern age.
