Rob, are you crazy - these guys are saving you a whopping £151 on this guitar - that's a WHOLE £151 that you can spend towards buying half a strap from them, or maybe a set of strings - this has got to be UK deal of the year and you are just so ungrateful....

I love the way the UK dealers just swap the dollar for a pound sign.
At this price, you could buy this guitar new from the US, pay all the taxes etc and still have enough money left to buy a nice second hand 330!

How does the saying go....?
.....a fool and his money......

...or if black is your bag, just buy this one that's already in the UK for half the price....

The 360C63 can be found in the US for $2800 inc shipping. Add 25% for import taxes and duty, that's $3360. That' works out to a little over £2100 for a new 360C63. Assuming worst case scenario in taking into account a variation on tax and currency conversion, you still won't be paying any more than £2500.
That would still leave you £1200 change from the £3700 GG are charging for their 360C64, that would be enough to get you a very nice 330/6.

Of course, the guitar wouldn't be covered by any warranty, but that would just be the same as buying one of the Ric Outlet one off guitars off Ebay, as Rickenbacker do not offer warranty cover outside of the US on those either.
Recently, GG were sent some 'special edition' Rickenbackers to coincide with the opening of their London store. I spoke to 4 different people there and not one of them had any clue about these guitars. One fellows response was that they had "one in shiny black, one in sunburst a couple in wood."
And that just about sums up the authorised Ric dealers here in the UK.
Rant over.

I've seen distress resales in the US of brand new C63's lower than that; one went in last year's batch for BIN $2000 and I recall one in this years batch being sold on at $2200. Even with FEDEX/DHL expedited airfreight that's $2500 or less to the UK.....

£2899 for an 09?!
They also say "Most places will cost you over £3000, if they are in stock"
All I can say is that if you're looking for a Rickenbacker guitar in the UK, It's best to avoid shopping at 'most places'.
Here you go chaps, this one is for you.....

Silly me, of course the guitar is now vintage.
Probably under priced too.
This one won't be around for long.

Here's one that seems to be a different price everytime I see it.

It was for sale a few months ago on preloved for £900

Hi, not sure about the Preloved bit, we've never advertise on there - perhaps previous owner was selling it? We've had it since March.

In terms of prices, I think everyone is aware that E-Bay fees are now pretty extortionate for Business Sellers, and we sometimes reflect the selling cost in our E-Bay prices. There is of course a "Best Offer" option as well if your interested :D

BTW its a great guitar.....

I passed on it at £900 because there was a bit of uncertainty over whether the pickups were authentic Ric or not.
The seller wouldn't take one off to show the back of them.
Which leads one to suspect that they are cheap fakers like these that myrareguitars sell.
Can you confirm that they are the real deal?

Hi, yes I'll gladly take one off to confirm. Listening to them, they certainly sound authentic. I'll post again when I've taken one off.

Cheers

Just wanted to add another public thank you to Tim at Sound Affects in Ormskirk.

He got me a new, gold, lower pickguard for my 660 to replace the original which had some minor cosmetic damage. It was sourced via the distributor and took a while to get, due to them not being all that readily available over here. Nice to find someone who sticks to their after sales backup stuff.

Was browsing the Sound Affects site and I noticed that they've conveniently clumped all the Ric-related stuff into a new sub-site:
http://www.therickenbackershop.com/

The good/bad thing is that I can now get simultaneous GAS pangs for a 360/6, 4003 and a janglebox without even having to search these things out! Great selection for a UK retailer though.
