Ric acoustics......

I have to say that I've never seen a reasonably high profile recording artist actually playing a Ric acoustic.

I'd love for someone to prove me wrong and show me a video/picture.

Don't have a picture, but Mary Chapin-Carpenter has a custom Blueburst Rickenbacker.

After the 75th Anniversary party, I believe both Paul Kantner (Jefferson Airplane) and Marty Willson-Piper (The Church) were given acoustics made by Paul W. (Paul will have to confirm this).

I believe Roger McGuinn has a Laramie 12'er.

He definitely was at some point, maybe he still is. At the 75th, he played with a band called the Mood Maidens.

Thats pretty cool, but apart from corporate shindigs, do any of them use them for live performances?

Not true. They both played the same guitar during the event and it is now permanently here:

You can see it on the stage behind Steve Anderson. He's playing another guitar that was also at the anniversary show.

Sorry, but I deleted that video in order to take advantage of YouTube's high quality mode. Here's a song that shows the guitar better:

The original video I posted is now here:

For more, search YouTube for Hautewerk (many new ones going up this week) and be sure to click the high quality option if you can take advantage of it.

I didn't know that Ric acoustics existed until about 15 minutes ago. I'm a Taylor girl, but I just might have to change my allegiance.

You can't put a whammy bar on an acoustic...
