I don't usually post too many "show-n-tell" threads, but I just picked up an absolute gem and HAD to share..

..... Barring my brief ownership of a '68 ES-17, this is my first Ric:

1st........Fedex guy takes ALL DAY to get around to dropping it off! sigh....

Nice case!

All original 1965 365OS FG in excellent condition. I'm really surprised at how nice this guitar is, no modifications etc. The neck is TINY, nice and resonant, perfect for chords/rhythm and it sounds amazing. I love the 60's crushed pearl inlays and Fireglo pattern. I'm the second owner, if you don't count the shop I bought it from. It was definitely worth the two v64 reissues I traded in for it. I always thought the reissues were identical until I finally have the real deal. I took tons of measurements before I sold the reissue, and I will write up a detailed comparison and post here soon.

Sorry for the horrible pics. My camera is from the dawn-of-time. Better pics can be found here: http://www.northsidemuse.com/2008-195.html
Maybe I'll some better shots another day.

Cheers,
-Collin

OS means old style, double bound, if I'm not mistaken, Mitch.

Gosh, that's a real gem! What a fine closet classic. The pics from the site show a lot more detail. Congratulations, Colin.

Wow, that's one beautiful guitar, Collin. Congratulations. I hope you enjoy her. (If we had a smiley for "totally envious" here on the board, I'd have placed it right here.)

Wow, this guitar really looks amazing!!!

I wonder how big of a hole it left in your pocket...

Anyways - it was already in the register (collected from eBay), I changed the owner to you so you could now see it under your items.

Collin, you definitely got the better financial end of that deal. The shop, however, can now easily flip two newer Ricks, whereas the '65 is a specialized instrument that would take a long time to sell. Great deal, and congrats!

That's ignoring the incredible necks on many of these '60s Ricks.

Things are getting interesting in these economic times...

Nah, I didn't trade the v64's directly to the shop, I sold them both on ebay- BIN- and bought the 365 outright. Kind of an indirect trade-in.

I'd have loved to hold on to the v64's, but I couldn't afford both, and couldn't justify keeping a v64 FG six string when this is the same thing, but the real mccoy.

BEEEEAAAUUUUUUTIFUL guitar.... There's nothing quite like a vintage Ric: the super-slim neck, the fantastic sound, the way it feels in your hands, and knowing that you're playing something that you just can't buy new (a new Ric just isn't the same)....

Congratulations, and enjoy! :D :D :D
