Should there be a plastic ring on the strapbolts,(between the strap and the body) on the muting strapbolts there are...so should they be at the strapbolts as well?? Looked at the component diagrams at rickenbacker.com and they weren`t shown there, Anybody know about this?

Thanks

My '66 Rose, Morrie 1998 has plastic washers on the strap bolts, so I assume that they've been on all strap bolts since at least that time.

Anybody else know for sure?

Yes, there should be a #10 nylon washer between the bolt and the body.

The nylon washers were fairly hit and miss through the years. If the factory had them in stock they put them on but if they didn't it wasn't enough to keep the guitar from shipping.

My '74 had 'em, so does my '76 and my '84 too, so there's a 10 year span where at least some had them...

Most any good hardware store should have nylon washers available.

That has been my experience also, some had them and some didn't. I just checked, my 79 4001 has them and my 72 4001FL doesn't. I've owned many and I don't think you can narrow it down to years, just some did and some didn't.
