I'm looking for the smallest bass amp, maybe even a battery powered one, to use in my truck so I can play my bass. I have a Vox AD-5 for guitar, but I'm sure I would blow the speaker if I used that. It doesn't need to be the "end all" of tone, but I don't want something that sounds like a dirt clod being thrown in a cardboard box.

How about a Pignose Hog 30 amp?

Too bad the Lectrosonics Moose and Mouse amps are no longer made. Or if they are still in production, I'm not aware of it.

Those mouse amps were pretty cool, haven't seen one in years.

I thought they were cool also. Sometimes I wish I had gotten one. They come handy for low volume casual jamming and practice.

Mike, you need something like this and then any small amp will be good to go:

I am not endorsing this one in particular, just the idea. I use one in the car to power AC things (notebook PS (battery is dead), cell charger, etc.).

75% of my practice time is done on a Rockman Bass Ace, just out of habit. It has a really good sound most of the time, but it's easy with RIC Hi-Gains to push it too hard and get some clipping. Make sure you use good headphones if you go that route.

When I get home late at night and feel like a go at the bass, I use my Tascam bass trainer with headphones. Irene sleeps and I can unwind.

I'm also looking for a small amp for my office at work. I actually have my Fender Floral P-bass there (I wouldn't leave a Rick there), and a small low powered amp would be nice to have. Aside from the Roland Micro Cube (around $200) and the Markbass Micromark ($$$), I haven't seen any cheapy small bass amps. Tone/power is not an issue. Any suggestions?
