Guys, after years of using the old Cry Baby with varying results I am going after one of the new(er) Wah pedals.
I will try as many as I can but I think the Jim Dunlop Bass Cry Baby and the Morley Dual Bass Wah will be the ones I will focus on initially.
I used the old style Cry Baby from time to time but the drop in signal and all the usual problems with older units made me use the Roland pedal on their multi effects unit.
Thats not a great decision and I need an up to date Wah that can go in the effects chain without draining the signal and has plenty of tonal possibilities to get a ballsy sound for bass.
Have any of you tried the white Dunlop bass Wah or the Morley Dual bass Wah?
I know of a few others and your valued input would be a great help.
The main use would be for soloing so its got to be a manual wah and any boost or drive options on pedals you have tried would interest me too.

I have the Morley Pro II series (bass) and have always liked it....I have no experience with the dual wah you speak of however. I never liked the way the Dunlops function......having to push the pedal fully to activate the on/off switch (maybe this is something that has changed....I haven't shopped for a wah in some time). The Morley pedal is spring loaded and any time you step on the pedal it is instantly on and when you let go it is fully off with no effect (not a true bypass if that is something that concerns you).

As far as tone I found the Morley and Dunlops to sound similar but it was the function that drove me to the Morley. The Morley also has a longer "throw" so it's easier, for me at least, to use it as a subtle effect as well as a full screamer. BTW......sorry if my info is out of date but there doesn't seem to be much action in this thread so I figured I'd throw my limited experience out there for ya'.

I use a Fulltone BassDrive for my "dirt" and it also has a boost switch for an extra kick when needed. I find it to be a great pedal for overdrive that goes from subtle to Lemmy without killing the low end. A little pricey but certainly worth checking out.

I agree about the "on" function with the Dunlop.
I am inclined to go for the optical system on the Morley too.

Actually. Brian is the one who really helped you out here. Just because we live in the same city doesn't mean we look alike, thank goodness!

Looks like the Jim Dunlop 105Q has the edge on the competition.
From what I can gather the Q control alters the range of the wah and there is also a volume level control.
The old switch has gone and now the pedal is off when all the way back and on as soon as its moved when it reverts to off theres a slight half second delay before going into "dry" mode.
Apparently you can tweak the delay if it isnt to your liking.

Yeah, I have the 105Q - the white one. Love it. Some of the older ones (like mine) don't have the trimpot inside to adjust the delay when you turn it off, but I modded mine to get rid of the delay.
