I've only ever played a 620, I did not like it's 'baseball bat' feel, it was just too fat for me. Is the neck on a 360 or 330 of a slimmer profile? if so, can you let me know the thickness of the neck at the 1st and 12th frets please?
Kind regards,
Steve

From the Rickenbacker.com website, it says that the neck width of the 360 at the nut is 1.63", and at the 12th fret is 1.931".

I'm asking about thickness, not width....

Without specific numbers, you'll likely find the profile of a 360 or 330 to have a slimmer feel. This is just based on my own experiences with many of the 600 models against the 300 series.

I would expect the two to have very similar necks.

To add, switching between a 330,620 and a 360 there is a small difference between the 620 and the others( being baseball like) but nothing to write home about. It was only something i noticed in the first week of having the 620 now i don't register it when im playing. Its nothing to worry about Steve its something youd forget very quickly.

I had my 620 for a while and could never get used to it, fat necks just don't fit my hands properly. I had a Telecaster before and I couldn't even manage that comfortably, something along the lines of a Strat 'C' shape is what seems to fit me best so I'm not sure if I could get along with a 330 or 360.

I dunno, I would describe my 330's neck as "baseball bat"-like - it's very reminiscent of a 50's Tele or something like that. I really like it, but most probably wouldn't.

I think those fat necks were an early-mid 00's thang. My '05 360/12 had a big neck, which I usually prefer, but it was pretty unwieldy.
My '93 330 has a wonderful slim neck - it'll be at MARF.

Baseball bat necks tend to annoy me. I had a '03 360/12 with a very fat neck, while my '91 660/12 has a very slim neck. Slim necks feel so good in my hands, it's scary!

I swop between my 360/6 and 12 and my 610, no problem, but I don't find the necks too thick for me at all and I only have smallish hands, compared to a man anyway!
It is what suits, you can't tell until you have tried them out for yourself.

That's funny to find this, as I spent yesterday trying out 150 guitars for neck feel and comfort. I found only two that were slim enough for me: A Gibson firebird re-issue, sinfully slender at two grand, and a Mexican sixties' tele re-issue at seven hundred. I haven't seen many ricks in this corner of the pond, and have never played a 300 or 600 series model aside from my '82 320, whose neck has sat well in the pocket for 26 years.
How does neck thickness vary in Rickenbackers when one moves from short scale to full scale?
