I'm almost 56 years old and have been playing for more than 40 years and I'm finally going to be able to count myself among your ranks. I've always wanted a Ric and I'll have one on Christmas! I was bidding on one on Ebay yesterday - I'm left handed and they're hard to come by. The bad news is I lost the auction. The good news is MY WIFE won! Unbeknownst to me she outbid me because she wanted to give it to me for Christmas. She had to tell me because her Ebay user name came up as the victor.
It's being shipped to my brother in law, the bass player to hold until Christmas Day. It may sound silly but I'm like a little kid waiting for Santa with prayerful hope!
Here's a picture. She's a Fireglo 330-12 and she's a beaut!

Haha, welcome and congratulations. I hope you two didn't get in a bidding war and drive the price up on yourselves
Russell, she's a beauty - your wife, that is. The guitar is pretty sweet, too.

Congrats, Russell--that's a great story. Sounds like you have a terrific wife--make sure you let her know how much you appreciate her! I say that because my husband buys me Rics from time to time....

Wow. Sounds like you've got a great wife. Mine is great, too...but when it comes to guitars or anything related to musical equipment, I often have to resort to clandestine operations.
Congratulations on your new Rickenbacker.
