Question regarding TI 12-string flatwound sets

I use the Thomastik-Infield flatwounds on my 360JG, and now I'm interested in trying them on my 360-12. For the 6-string sets, 4 of the 6 strings are wound. Is there anything special about the unwound strings? I notice they are gold as opposed to silver. Are the unwound strings gold on the 12-string set? Also, for the 12-string sets, I would imagine that only 6 of the 12 strings would be wound. I am wondering, are these 12-string sets over-priced? If a 6-string set of flatwounds goes for $17.49, why does a 12-string set go for $32.49, if only two additional wound strings are needed? Seems like we are paying for nothing more than convenience, at that point. Do they last longer or something? I don't understand why the unwound strings would last any longer than regular strings.

Steve - the high E and B strings are, of course, unwound, as is the high G. All the rest are wound strings, so in order to make a complete 12str set you'd have to buy two 6-string sets, which would be $34.98. So you actually save a couple of bucks.

That still leaves six wound strings in the 12 string set.

And so it is. Sorry, it's early here.
