Cool, but, it's backwards...

Look closely at it (and the 'original' case).

Well, actually, he doesn't say it's an original case, just a period "Irckenbacker" case, which he says isn't very substantial. Never seen one with a logo like that on it.

It's just a cheap case with a Rickenbacker sticker on it.

Is the bass for real? The headstock looks dodgy.

Other than a mediocre stain job, it is an early split-neck 4003. Front looks pretty good, headstock looks odd without the "highlight" effect.

I wouldn't touch it. The seller also has a dubious 'lefty' Gibson 335 for sale.

Do I see a seam of some kind at the base of the headstock in back, a splice or repair?

Hmm, older style Grovers, the TRC looks like a molded Italian one instead of the correct plexi style it should have on it. :?

At least the seller states in the 335 ad that it has been converted to a lefty, with a refin.

I've never seen one of those. Did they actually do that?

Yes, Kevin. The first time I saw one was when Ted Staberow posted a picture of one (his?). A search of the older threads might turn it up.

I found it.
