New Strat for mateybob?

Post by fireglo67 »

Been looking at getting a strat, then spookily I got an email informing me that this one is available......

http://www.gbase.com/Stores/Gear/GearDe ... em=1967282

The price in the email, that is not on the web is........

$299,000!

Peter Levett has obviously been telling a few people I've got a few quid to spare!

Shame it's a leftie, one for Peter methinks.

wow, I never knew Hendrix owned any Lefty strats, that is pretty cool.

I wonder if they really do sound better upside down? I'm a tele guy anyways, so all strats sound thin and cheesy to me!

I always thought that it was the other way around, with the majority of Tele's sounding a bit thin and fizzy. Though I do prefer the twang of a good quality Tele.
Horses for courses I suppose.

I've decided to give this strat a miss, the fact that it has a gig bag and not a hard case is a deal breaker for me.

I got the same email as Rob but I already have a white lefty Strat. Why would I need two?
Mine was made in 2000 and it was owned by Hendrix too, well so the bloke in the pub that I bought it from said.

I didn't get the email. :(
But then again, with three Strats, I'm pretty much set in that department. :D

Yeah, for some reason Tele's get this reputation. Every Tele i've owned ('62 Custom RI's) has been much boomier, deeper sounding than the strats i've owned. When I plug a strat in, especially in the bridge position, it always sounds like twangy SRV, but the Tele sounds richer, especially neck position.

The strat does get points for it's incredible versatility, but it can never seem to grasp the tele tone though!

 Considering it is Nov. 18th, we have snow on the ground, I had to go out and clean the 10 satellite dishes for the first and earliest time, and it was 15.8 degrees last night when I got home, that just might be soon!
