+1, ditto that! Very cool 60s vibe! Takes me back to the 60s Garage scene that I was part of back in the 80s. Here's a pic of me introducing a some friends, a bnad called "Through the Looking Glass":

Cadfael covers some really great stylistic ground - it sounds to me like the theme to a top-notch surf-suspense thriller movie (and I mean that in the very best sense). The bridge is a killer... gotta uploads some more!!!

Oh, thank you very much, Evan (and everybody else). This is exactly what I had in mind. I love these 60s thriller movie themes: Mancini, Barry and all that. Among the recordings of my "All Those Years Ago"-LP there is a tune in a similar style called "Dizzy Zero´s Ripperstreet Band" with a trumpet solo by a good friend of mine.

Cadfael is great, made me want to dance the Watusi, or the Monkey. Very nice sixties movie feeling and sounds like great fun doing it. I'll keep a copy of that one to make me smile when I'm feeling grumpy

"Fever" takes me back, too, but only as far as the early-eighties' first wave of rock revival. Like around '82, the early MTV era. Great nostalgia and I appreciate the tongue-in-cheek lyrics

Thank you, I am always very insecure about my lyrics, because my English is not good enough to write proper lyrics in this language. And German lyrics do not fit my musical style, so about 80% of my recordings are instrumentals.

Concerning my recording setup I must say that I have tried out a lot of different recording techniques and a lot of equipment over the last 20 years and I have used everything from an analogue 2-track Philips reel-to-reel-recorder and a 4-track Yamaha cassette-recorder to the modern DAWs like Cakewalk, Logic & Pro Tools.

Currently I am using an Apple Powerbook G4, a Mackie Onyx 1640 mixer with Firewire I/O and Logic Express 8 combined with a Tascam TSR-8 8-track reel-to-reel-recorder. I record my guitars (a Rickenbacker 325V59, a Rickenbacker 650AVH and a Burns Hank Marvin Signature) either through my VOX AC30CC1 (with a Groove Tubes GT55 large diaphragm condenser microphone in front of the speaker) or straight through a first generation Hughes & Kettner Tubeman. I have been using an Ibanez bass guitar in the past, right now I play a Fender Highway One Jazzbass, which I really love. For synthesizer sounds I have used a lot of different Moog, Novation, Roland and Waldorf synths in the past as well as various software synthesizers. There is only one synth left, which is my Clavia Nord Modular G2 - the best synthesizer I know.

Wow, Markus, you're way ahead of me with the cool toys. I'd very much like to check out your studio. I started recording in studios about 1975 but this is my first computer setup.
