What happened to the bridge?
How much routing was done to put in the humbucker?

I like how they give the guitar's measurements like it's a shirt or pair of pants or something. I don't think I've ever measured a guitar like that. Makes absolutely no sense.

Likely none. As a pickguard covers all the area, many 425 type models just have an enlarged hole for the single pickup. The pickguard is chopped beyond stock repair.

I'm not that turned off by this guitar though. I'm not afraid of a project, and other than replacing the pickguard, pickup and bridge - this one doesn't look too bad...

Not too into the EVH reflective tape stripes though!

I'm with Collin on this one - for the right price, this could be a real winner - just needs a bridge, a toaster and a 'guard (maybe a refin down the line). The bridge will be the hard part.....

The pickup cavity on 425s is ENORMOUS, so there shouldn't be any routing for the humbucker.

I bet "Eruption" sounds awesome on that!.........LOL!

As for the year...this is a tough one. There is no "Made in USA" on the TRC, but the fireglo and plastic tuner heads lead me to believe it's like 1970. There's no proof it had a toaster either, but that is a plexi TRC.

What is the bridge on it?

It needs a Floyd Rose....and some more striping tape...

Seriously though; I vote with Collin on this one as well.

Since it's been modded already and is in more of a an players condition versus a collectors, if the cavity is big enough I'd look into converting it to a 450.

Not too bad an idea. That cavity is large, and the only issue is depth, and it should be deep enough, as well. Humbuckers are about 9/16" deep, and you've got 1/8 for the guard...so there's plenty of meat.

To avoid drilling holes, though, I'd use the Fender mounting method, mounting the new pickup through the guard, and backing the pickup with some closed-cell black sponge rubber strips to make up the height and allow some cushion and play in the adjustment.

Plus, it's got the bigger '50s-'60s transitional headstock. If I had to guess, I'd put it down for '62-'63.

It's worth every penny they asked for.
