Old Truss Rod System Question

Paul, are the old truss rod nuts the same as the new ones? John Biscuti's 360F BB (single rod) is missing the nut and we want to be sure before proceeding.

Cheers John! I'll phone Kenny tomorrow about it.johnhall wrote:I have no idea about the original single rod nut but I suspect it's the same as the later dual rod nut, which is indeed different than the current one. As I recall, the original one is an 8-32, and the new one 10-32. Anyway, Kenny Howes has a supply of the old type he can send you.
Yeah, one of the T1's was down for a few hours last night, for reasons so one seems to be able to explain. I was going to propagate the sites to another T1 but decided to wait until this morning; by the time I got here, everything was a normal. I HATE intermittent problems.johnallg wrote:Also, it appears the RIC site is down right now - trying to look in the Boutique and it is timing out. I get so far with a tracerout then it times out after this node:

Well, if your servers are running a Microsoft OS, it's not exactly an intermittent problem...johnhall wrote:Yeah, one of the T1's was down for a few hours last night, for reasons so one seems to be able to explain. The 1950s single-rod also used the 8-32.johnhall wrote:I have no idea about the original single rod nut but I suspect it's the same as the later dual rod nut, which is indeed different than the current one. And yes, I can send you a couple if you need 'em.
It came back up an hour or so later when I tried again. I had wondered if the fires got to a fiber!johnhall wrote:Yeah, one of the T1's was down for a few hours last night, for reasons no one seems to be able to explain.
