I can't recall ever seeing another 12/comb like this. Anyone?

Here is another unique one, AFAIK. This was at MARF III.

I don't know....but that particular guitar has a Rose Morris case though.

Over time I've seen more 366's for sale than 336's. Pretty rare, I would imagine. The one for sale is a very early production.

I saw one in JG at the vintage guitar show in Costa Mesa in `05.

I dig the comb. I remember playing those in the shop, back when ricks were plentiful, and slanted-fret models. If I knew then what I know now ...

Does the comb thingy work well?
Is is a cinch to switch back and forth, say in a live situation?
Could one conceivably play a rhythm in 12 mode, quickly yank the strings down, play a lead in 6 mode, then go back to 12 for the rest of the tune?

I believe string bending is not an option with the comb engaged.

Yeah, not great for blues leads but versatile for rhythm. The comb works fine if you're not prone to hitting it with your pick.

there was a 366/12 posted here last year - supposedly owned by Bowie...

I had the opportunity to play a 456/12 JG a couple of years ago, and I thought that the comb worked fine. I should have bought one while they were still reasonably priced!

there is 366/12 at cowtown guitars for about two or three years there. it even went down $0.5k condition unknown.. and since i see them badmouthing ebay on their website and then i see they are buying there very often i don't know what kind of integrity is that. there was 456/12 with lost comb at lark street and it was gone before i got to the phone. again voltage guitars had 336/12mg about year ago and now gone. i am watching this 336/12 - i am just not sure i want neck set candidate right now in my house.

Looks like the converters done by Gross to me...i.e. early. I seem to remember Mike Parks having a 366/12 with one like this some time ago. Of course...my memory about all of this stuff is foggy.

Silly low bidding. Am I missing something?
