Does anybody have a list of 60's/70's songs that they like to play on their Ricks? I've been playing around, and it's like the "Tell Me A Joke" thing where you suddenly can't think of one when you're playing.

I did Mr. Tambourine Man, I'll Feel A Whole Lot Better, Eight Days A Week, My Back Pages, Eight Miles High, and Mr. Tambourine Man. Any other fun suggestions?

I actually played That Thing You Do! in the inbetween time of my posting and now; a friend said "Didn't Jimmy from the Wonders get a Rickenbacker when they made it big?" after I told her about getting it, and I thought "Ooh, good tune!"

But your list- WAY better than her one off suggestion. Those'll keep me busy for a while, much appreciated!

Ooh, excellent! I completely forgot about The Who! I'm actually staying at a relative's house until after the holidays and forgot my iPod and am without my vinyl collection, so I've been trying to remember great 12-string songs by memory, and you've given me what could be compared to a Vitamin B injection. But the Who are a brilliant addition that I wouldn't have thought of until I made it home or had something on television or the radio to kick start them in my mind. So I especially thank you for that one, good sir.

Don't forget Chimes Of Freedom...and I think She Don't Care About Time is the greatest Gene Clark song ever.
I love McGuinn playing the classical piece in the guitar ride.

I'll second "She Don't Care About Time" and add in no particular order or group:

"Turn Turn Turn"

"Ticket to Ride"
"My Generation"

My particular feeling is that if a guitarist has mastered TTT, and 8MH, then you've pretty well absorbed McGuinn's style. And you're ready to branch out and apply it anywhere you think it's musically appropriate.

No, it hasn't. And I'm starting to get tired of the wait. But I can't say I wasn't forewarned, though. I received a PM from a fellow forumite who had an idea about how to finesse (legally!) the waiting time. The idea is worth considering. And neither the idea, nor the identity of the forumite will be disclosed, unless said individual chooses to come forward.

Walk Away, Renee's actually been getting a lot of play lately. It's my all time forever and ever favorite song, so I've been playing it a lot lately. It sounds amazing though. I'll have to try Love Minus Zero. And I love Wolfking of L.A. so that's a good suggestion as well. I appreciate those, it's that outside of the box thinking that helps the most sometimes.

I think Walk Away Renee is one of the nicest rock ballads written. Here's an interesting, and quite good really, cover of it. And the Rick is a bonus!

How long have you been waiting on your 360/12? Mine was ordered 11/21/05, but I put my claim down on it on December 23rd. It was a longer wait than most people will ever know. (You're one of those that do, though. I liken it to what somebody experiences when they're waiting to get out of jail. )

Also, related to my cause, I was looking up on McGuinn and found out there was a video of him on iTunes doing Turn Turn Turn with Springsteen that I didn't know about. So I bought it, sat down to watch it, and what's he using? A 660/12! I feel especially validated in getting a 660 now. My monitor is less than great, and I'm 99% positive that he's rocking a JetGlo, but it could be DCM or Midnight Blue, honestly. But if I had to lay down a bet, I'd put it on JetGlo.
