Model of the Week three: 4001S and RM1999

OK, NOW is the time to show us your "dot neck," true vintage, down-trimmed S models, and the elusive Rose-Morris 1999 (the export 4001S). It's not clear when the S model started, and it could be described by the factory as "4000 two pickup" as it was fairly easy to combine the two-pickup arrangement with the 4000 body/neck chassis. From about 1972 to the end of the 4000 and 4001 run in the early '80s, the 4001S and the 4000 shared a plank body with a set neck that featured the then-standard shedua center strip.
But let's put off showing the current "dot neck" vintage models - the V63 and C64 types for now. And we'll handle the 4003S separately as well. Enjoy!

Here is my '82 4001S, bought new in early 1984. It is next to its only sister at the time ('98 4003). Now it has 3 sisters.
- Ric 4003 and Ric 4001S

Here's my 1964 RM 1999, serial number DH 153. I believe it was from the seventh Rose Morris shipment, which went to England. My bass eventually found it's way to Australia.

Ooh, love these pics! My favorite Ric bass is finally getting some glory.
The RM1999 is a bass that cannot be beaten.
Pete Greenwood claims to have DA24, show us that bass' mugshot, Pete!
I dunno if we are to show pictures of celeberties with their RM1999 or 4001S basses, but here's what I think DA25, it's not in my possesion, and more than likely smashed or trashed by John Alec Entwistle
