Happy Birthday, Peter! Without your madness and dedication, many of us would be web-homeless! Instead, we find a comfortable, warm place gathering here 'round the old pot-bellied stove, raving about everything except politics, sex, and religion.

So here's to you, our beloved Scoutmaster. Long may you run!

So I take it that פיטר is Hebrew for Peter? Is that correct Gil?

Thanks to all. Your comments are too much. I am loving them, however.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Happy Birthday Peter. I hope it is a fine day for you and you have time to enjoy a Ric or two.

Yup :)
But it's not the Hebrew word for that, it's simply Peter.
פ = p
י = i
ט = t
ר = ר

(There is no need for the "e" as Hebrew a thing called "nikkud" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nikkud), we don't use it in normal writing as once you get the hang of it you can manage without out (by understanding the language rules)
The "short", version of peter would be פטר, but without the nikud it would be read like peter with the first e sounding like the 2nd e.
So long and thanks for all the fish!

Thanks for the lesson Gil,

I don't think I could ever master Hebrew. It's seems like a tough language to learn. I had some help deciphering your message to Peter btw.
