. . . and the rarer 4080/12 (bass and 12-string). Apparently made from 1975 until around 1992/93, the doubleneck 4080 can be an acquired taste (for folks like Dave Pascoe) if you can stand upright for a few hours with this musical boat anchor hanging from your shoulders. I hope we hear from Dave as he has what must be the largest concentration of 4080s in the known world. Let's post photos and discuss the amazing 4080!

Now if we could just get Pasco to show up, it would almost be a one-man thread!

Where has Dave Pascoe been, anyway? Don't hear from him here on the bass forum anymore.

I've always thought that the double neck was very cool ... but, as I am a bass player, I like to think that the reason Rick does not produce them anymore is because if you play the guitar neck ... there is just no damn bass in the song ... and we all know what forum this is! Now if they had made one with 4 string and 8 string bass necks that would be cool. Not sure if I could lift it though ... No seriously, someday I could see myself buying one of these gems ... but isn't the 4080 twice as hard to hide from the wife ....

Cool posting ...

Peace,
M.

It's worth adding the 4080 bass has the most sustain of all Rick basses due to all the extra maple. It's one of the best playing Rick basses I've ever played. And you can hear it on my RRF CD Vol.1 J Dog track (May/June).
