Name the Instrument and The Band

Let's try a little quiz that identifies and links musicians to their famous band(s). Anyone can play and the ONLY rule is you CANNOT use Google or a similar search engine to find the correct answer(s).
Here's a sample of how it works:
Mick Abrahamson? Answer: guitar player for Jethro Tull
John Ashton? Answer: guitar player for The Psychedelic Furs
Michael Anthony? Answer: bass player for Van Halen, Planet Us, Sammy Hagar and the Waboritas
OK so here is the first name: ERIC AVERY

Flea and Chris Chaney also did bass stints with Alanis.

Close Mark. You need all parts of the puzzle to be 100% correct. Violin was but one of his instruments.

Viola and keyboards in addition to violin.
Interesting in combination with Bruford, Whetton and Fripp. Spin "Larks Tongues in Aspic" for a sample....

Here's a clue on Joey's artist.............He played for a very successful female singer in the 80's.
