I saw this video a bunch of times in the early 80's, but never remembered it as having a Ric bass in it. The sound is certainly right.

I've got a Madness LP or two downstairs. "Our House" was probably their big hit.

"House of Fun" is a favorite.

I absolutely love Madness! I've got several bootlegs DVD's of live footage from these guys and never saw him playing a Ric before. Probably borrowed, but still pretty cool.

I went trolling through the old Madness videos a while back and yeah, I too was surprised to see Bedders playing a Rickenbacker - very cool! I wonder if he just used that bass for the shoot or if he actually played one live or on recordings. What a great band. I remember seeing this video when I was a kid, after Our House hit the charts and Madness started getting a little more exposure in Canada. That dancing bumblebee was a memorable image!

Just saw the video for the first time last night - and immediately spotted that Rick... which confused me, as I didn't expect it.

Even weirder, the fact, this was the next video:

Seen this video a zillion times when this was a hit, but could not remember ever having noticed the Rick!

I remember that from when the song came out. A Rose-Morris model at that!

Yeah, same for me. I saw it a lot on the early/mid 80's when it came out, but the short band shots went out of my memory. What stuck were the pencil drawing/cartoon images.

Nice, a Mid 60's Rose Morris 1998. Nice guitar. I distinctly remember thinking "ooh Rickenbacker, they look so cool"
