Your Fave Winter Holiday Tune, Why, & With Which Ric?

1 ~ What is your favorite winter holiday song to play?
2 ~ Why?
3 ~ Which Rickenbacker stringed instrument do you prefer strapping on when you play this tune?
1 ~ "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town" (Composed by Haven Gillespie & J. Fred Coots, 1934)
2 ~ I dig the chord changes in the verse (e.g., C-C7-F-Bb7-C-C7-F-Bb7----Em-Am-Dm-G7-Ab-Db)
2 ~ I dig the chord changes in the bridge (e.g., Gm-C7-F-D7-Gm-C7-F-Am-D7-G-E7-Am-D7-Dm)
3 ~ 360/6 Montezuma Brown with 7.4k-ohm ToastersĀ® plugged into a Rivera or Fender tube amp on a clean setting.
My amigo Octavio and I played this version last week while our middle-schoolers joined in singing this jazzier version. He was on tenor sax and I accompanied him on my Martin HD-28. Yeah, man, it was sort of funny. The typical middle-school resistance of "we're-too-cool-to-sing-these-tunes" soon dissipated when the rapscallions saw how much fun these two knuckleheaded teachers were having singing traditional holiday songs. The spirit of the season had invaded our bods!
Peace, out.....Goofyfoot.

Aaahhh, now THAT'S the holiday spirit in full bloom, Jingle_Jangle. BTW, it looks like I'll be driving up 101 from L.A. to the Bay Area in the wet stuff tomorrow. I see it's been soggy in your neck of the woods of late.
Hydroplaning my way to gawd's country,

Paul, ever tried playing that on your 360/12 Carl Wilson? It is a good song, though. One of my favorite holiday tunes.
If I ever found online tabs/chords to Tom Petty's "It's Christmas All Over Again", I'm sure that would be my favorite holiday tune. Simply because I love TP. I'd play it on my trusty 1997

After getting a lot of requests from my students for Christmas songs this season, I bought a book and have been annoying my friends with Christmas songs for most of this month.
"Jingle Bell Rock" sounds sweet on a '59 Capri I "happen to have here" (some wonderful jazzy chords in there), but the real highlight has been a piano arrangement of "My Favorite Things", sort of a Julie Andrews/John Coltrane hybrid. Sounds nice on my new Rhodes.

This is my favorite Christmas tune. He was still in wings, so it might be the Rickenbacker bass.
