Dumb idea.Besides their "40 years of wear" isn't where my 40 years of wear would appear.

I suppose if I wanted to pretend I was a real musician, I'd want an instrument that pretends to look like it's been used...

I'm going to start selling reliced Guitar Hero controllers. They'll have nicks, dents, cigarette burns, and cheetos stains.

Another line of guitars with "wear" in the same predictable spots. Maybe it's just me, but I go to pretty good lengths to keep my guitars from getting dinged , I can't see paying someone else to beat it up for me. It cracks me up when I see relic Fenders for sale being described as "Mint" condition

And the market continues to expand, unnecessarily...

This is non-news.

How 'bout that Blagojevich, huh?

Every time I see a thread like this I have to crack up. If you want a not so perfect looking guitar, buy a used one. I just don't get it. Al also don't get when I walk into JC Penny I find jeans that if i owned then I'd throw them away way before they'd look that bad. I guess tattered is in.

Forget the relic issue--I'm sick to death of Fender beating the "hot rod" references in their product line. Hot rod deville...."Road-worthy", Highway 1 etc. I'm sick of it.

Yes, I live in Orange County- I understand the Car culture completely, and the slight history that it might have shared with Fender being in Orange County in the 60s, etc....but I find little actual relation to guitars and cars (Billy Gibbons aside!)

Maybe it's the paint or something; auto paint=guitar paint.   All kidding aside, good point Collin!

Rock N' Roll, fast cars, guitars, yeah, all the hot rod stuff gets annoying.

Now, if they'd mix Rock & Roll, Guitars, and fast Planes, well, then you'd have something I could get behind!

When I saw the topic, I thought I was going to see a relic Strat being run over by a sixteen-wheeler... I'm kind of disappointed :(
