Well, I was going to get to the Shadow eventually (in the "Model of the Week" thread), but one thing about Shadows; you seen one, you've seen them all (pretty much). The only things that would vary would be the grain of the fretboard and the instrument's condition. But we'll have a Shadow week, along with an SPC week, and many others.
But, to hold you over till then, here's mine (from Jdog):

Paul is right. They differ only slightly having all been made during a few months in mid 1986. Mine has a distinctive finish flaw on the upper horn. A lump of something is under (or in) the CV and shows as a smooth raised area about 1/4" long and less than 1/8" wide. It was undoubtedly sanded over several times during the finishing process but inexplicably not removed. My Shadow has a unique neck shape among my Ricks. Every Shadow I have played (and thanks to forum events I have played many) has the same shape. It is thicker (fingerboard to back) near the body than it is near the nut where my other Ricks are roughly the same thickness top to bottom. Maybe that is just the way they were made in '86 - I don't know - but it is different from my others.

OK, then there is this beauty I had for a few months. Sold to a certain fan of blackness in Hawaii:

Shadows have the "micro-dot" markers while the others have the normal markers, that would make them "none more black", but not technically a "Shadow", right?
Paul, the one that went to Hawaii almost looks fretless in the pic!

Shadows don't actually have the "micro-dot" markers, just normal-sized black ones.
I'm pretty sure the bass in Paul's picture
is fretless!

Here's my "Poor Man's Shadow" '88 4003 made by swapping black hardware and black plastic onto a regular Geddy-style Jetgo Rick bass:

John is right, it is a fretless Jetglo with BT, a real beauty and mint. I bought it on eBay and picked it up in Chicago from a player. But I really didn't get the hang of fretless, and the band I'm in had no tunes suitable for a fretless sound, so I ended up sending it Jared Nakanishi a few months after I got it. This was four years ago, and as far as I know, he still has it.
