Man, either I'm getting really old or there has been a lot of attrition of great performers lately... RIP

Darn, man. I missed this news item. Wow, Freddie Hubbard was one sublime jazz trumpeter. First LP I bought of his was "First Light," a triumph when it was released in '71 on Creed Taylor's CTI Records. It really is a beautiful album. Saw him at San Francisco's Keystone Korner in quartet and quintet formats back in the day. Whew, I'm just blown away by this news. I will not forget you, Freddie. Peace.....Goofyfoot.

Last Monday we played "Red Clay" in his honor. Not in the original C# of course... all the horn players want to do it in C.
RIP Freddie, truly an innovator.
