I haven't played any of their guitars, but a couple of buddies of mine have a couple of their basses. I like the basses. They are pretty comfortable and sound great. I have a DVD for the Eagles' Farewell I concert. Joe Walsh plays one in that show...If I am not mistaken it is the same model as the one you linked to. I liked the sound. One thing I have to say, they have some really awesome finishes with figured tops.

The lead guitarist in the
Lemon Antennas has quite a few and loves them; the sounds he gets are amzing, really.
I used to have a SC90 that was a fantastic sounding and playing guitar, the only reason I sold it was to fund a Rick.

With electric guitars, you choose the build and Carvin puts it together in San Diego. Think of it as a custom shop operation, but without the concomitant costs. Aside from their factory location, they have three shop locations --- Hollywood, Santa Ana, and Sacramento, which carry some already-built pieces. Otherwise, you order it and they serve it up to you. I've visited the Carvin store on Hollywood's Sunset Blvd., next to Mesa Boogie and across the street from the original GC. I played the Deep Sunsetburst (Brown) CT6 pictured in this link and well, it sounded and felt fabs played through a Carvin Nomad 500 tube amp. That was two years ago. Just my dos centavos' worth. Peace, out.....Goofyfoot.

All of the Carvins that I have run accross used all played well and had excellent wood working and finish work. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a guitar or bass from them.

I own an ICON 4P bass and a B4, and have had several amps and cabs.
Great value.

Good brand - have played several of their basses over the years and still have a bass amp and cab from the early 70s that I use. Sold my bass several years ago due to the need of some quick cash... kept the Ric

They're made well, but they remind me of Taylors: soulless. I've owned one and live 10 minutes from where they're built.
