Hard to believe....six hours ago this baby sold for $7500.00.

Prices for a first year 1954 Strat are anywhere from $65,000 to $125,000 depending on month, condition, etc.

Someone got themselves a bargain!

What's odd about this is that the listing is really descriptive in terms of what to look for, neck date info and what "T.G." means, info that only a real fan of the marque would know.

I smell a scam.........What knowledgeable gear head would sell a '54 strat for $7500....?????

I'd break my hand getting my money out......too good to be true I bet....

That's what I'm trying to believe too, John. The seller has a good track record though. It's feasible that the seller bought it for that kind of money some time ago and needed to quickly offload it, without being aware of the exponential price rises for these models in recent years.

That's the same basis upon which I bought by '64 RM 1999

Judging by the sellers past listings, musical gear isn't his trade. It appears the seller is into Hot Wheels, not guitars. Doubt it's a scam. May be a guitar of questionable background though.

Well if the buyer is looking to double his money in these tough times, I'm willing to help the guy out.

What's more amazing is that the guitar was there for almost 20 minutes with a starting bid of $1500!
