Epiphone USA Custom Shop Wilshire

I've always preferred the body shape of this family of Epis to the SG.I wonder if they have addressed the neck joint issue that some of the '60s Epi solid-bodies have (along with some of the vintage DC LP Specials)?
The $5000 - $12000 they quote for vintage Wilshire's is a bit rich unless you limit yourself to very early models......in excellent+ condition. There are a couple of batwing-headstock mid-60s models at dealers for less than $5k. This makes me think the RRP will be lofty...
