"GOOD PRICE", $500.00 or lower for a RI. They sell on Ebay from $600.00 up to $750.00 depending on condition.

The only thing I could see that would change this trend is if RIC decides to sell them out of the Boutique again.

Hopefully that will happen now that the c64's are no longer in production. Of course RIC still has to fill the orders that were placed before they announced they were discontinuing the models.

When prices of $600-$750 are quoted from Ebay, it's important to remember that only a few have sold for that price, meaning only a few people in the world are willing to pay that price. After a few had sold in the $500 range a couple years ago, I put mine on Ebay WITH the surround. I got about $350. That was all and I was surprised. I had bought it new from RIC for $150 a couple years prior, so I still made a profit, but with so few sales on Ebay that have been all over the place, I think quoting the high is misleading. While a good sounding pickup with a very cool look, I still found that for me, the HB1's were better. If I had another one, I'd put it on Ebay to see what I could get, but if I was a buyer, I wouldn't just pay $750 for one. That's just crazy for a reproduction part that will probably be available again for a couple hundred bucks. Then of course we have the vintage "recombinant DNA" RIC horseshoes that have been on Ebay this week. With a starting price of $895 and a few available, I don't know why anyone would hit the BIN price of $1250. While I wouldn't hesitate to bid on one of these for a real 60's 4001 restoration, I just can't imagine that it could make anything else sound $1250 better.
