'73 4001 FL Fingerboard Finish Question

I recently lucked out of picking up a '73 4001 FL MG off the 'Bay. Turns out the fingerboard has been stripped. I was going to have it refinished in CV or catalyzed lacquer. Luckily there is minimal fingerboard wear from the TI jazzflats, otherwise it's an all original bass complete with checkered binding, sounds great too. What is the original fingerboard finish on the early '70's FL basses?? Thanks in advance. Sam

Here's a photo from the auction:

It would be a CV clearcoat on the fretboard.

Yup....On my 73 example, that combination with what appears to be very nice Brazilian rosewood, looks very impressive.
