Would these work in a guitar or are bass pickups different?

They have the six pole positions.

Thanks

Well, Rick, we won't get into the various toaster configurations, or the different impedances from different eras.

But, yes, bass (4005, for example) and guitar toasters are basically the same 6-pole units.

As they come with grommets they appear to be guitar toasters, although the VP31 designation would imply bass pickups. The only difference, outside of whether these are scatterwound or not, is the mounting hole. Bass toasters have threaded holes for machine screws, whereas guitar toasters have unthreaded holes for wood screws. You might want to ask the seller what it is he really has. :!: :?

It looks like those Toasters have phillips head screws in the corners, which means they might be the 12k variety.

Zooming the pic of the single backside, it looks like there is no threads on the aluminum plate mounting holes so my bet is these are guitar pickups. They can be used on a bass pickguard with a nut on the backside. My V63 bass has a 12k toaster - monster pup.

Thanks guys

These things are hard to come by.

My local Rickenbacker dealer called RIC last week and was told they might be able to get some in a few weeks.

So, I'm trying to decide on waiting on a maybe or get into a bidding war on these.
