I was lucky. I had approximately 3 degrees of separation from anyone who dressed like that back then.

Specifically, there were some "well-to-do" (upper middle-class pre-yuppies) on my Dad's side...saw 'em--at a distance--at a coupla weddings back then.

I was, er, "different". I had a $15.00 Robert Hall suit at the time, that was made from beige nylon freizé sofa fabric (I think). People would look at me and think, "I though Chuck Berry was Black?"

Paul, it sounds like your sense of style was um.... unique! :shock:

Probably looked better than what everyone else was wearing at the time.... :roll:
