The Weight of the World

Hurricanes and tornadoes
Blacking out my skies of blue
They can blow my town to kingdom come
But as long as I love you
I’ll be laughing under the weight of the world

I got one foot in the wildfire
Got the other one in my shoe
When I know you’re there to love me
There ain’t nothing I won’t walk through
I’ll be laughing under the weight of the world

40 days and 40 nights of rain
Wouldn’t change a thing
I’ll just dive to the bottom
And I’ll pull the plug on your drain
And I won’t complain
I’ll be laughing under the weight of the world

Let the earthquake shake me baby
Let the snowstorm make me freeze
The volcano blows and the lava flows
Let it swirl around my knees
I’ll be laughing under the weight of the world

40 days and 40 nights of rain
Wouldn’t change a thing
I’ll just dive to the bottom
And I’ll pull the plug on your drain
And I won’t complain
I’ll be laughing under the weight of the world
I’ll be laughing under the weight of the world
I’ll be laughing under the weight of the world
I’ll be laughing under the weight of the world

Hmmmmmmm.... a huge departure from 1-4. But still f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c!! I wanna get up and dance!

I think a little brass could be the cherry on the top. Some long held notes over the chorus, some rhythmic stabs here and there, and a baritone sax interplaying with the drums during the "pauses" would be very funky...

Cool tune Mark, I like it. I can see what Evan was saying maybe horns/sax of just a harmonica type voice in there.…
