Hi guys, new rickenbacker owner here!!!I play bass around 12 years now and i just pick my first 4003 fireglow a dream come true!!
I noticed that the bridge pickup output is hotter than the neck's(pickup)is this normal for rickeys??

that's usually pretty common. the bridge pickups are quite a potent weapon. that's why we love 'em so much. You can adjust the heights of the pickups to make a blend that's more appealing to you. Or you could just run the bridge pickup alone and terrify your guitarist.

Welcome Theodore. Congrats on the nice score. I don't want to throw a wrench in the works, but my neck pup has always been louder than my bridge pup. In any event, I think that most would report that one or the other is louder. I don't consider it a problem. :)

Yes, welcome! All my 4001's & 4003's have had that uneven response in the pickups. Be careful adjusting the height of the neck pickup. If you try to raise it too much, you can crack the plastic on the pickguard.

Better to lower the bridge pickup to balance them.

Welcome, Theodore! :D

I do both, raise the neck till the screw JUST becomes hard to turn (won't stress or crack the pickguard that way) and then lower the bridge pup to the tone balance I want. Welcome to RRF and enjoy that bass!

Welcome to the forum, Theodore. You can balance the output of the pickups as previously suggested. Some guys prefer the pickups balanced and some prefer getting all the potential output that they can from each pickup.
