"I knew someone, (Randy), who was a roadie here in Albany, NY who worked at the Knickabacker/Pepsi Arena. While he was under the stage platform (with YES at the area) and saw this small little old amp. It had the grill torn off with what looked like a 12" speaker cut out of a 10" speaker origonal. He could not remember for certain what amp it was but it may have been an AC 30? Chris Squire came down and was checking things. When he asked chris in a sourcastic tone in his voice, "What's that?????" Chris said that's my amp. My friend said yeah right you got all those marshall/ampeg amps on stage. "You're b.s. me right, this a joke or what?" Chris said, "if you listen carefully you will hear light tremolo/vibrato on most of the early albums." He said this is that very same amp! The roadie didn't really believe him at that time."

Did Squire play in stereo? Did he wired his RM1999 (4001S) in stereo even though it does not have Ric-o-sound?

any info on how he used that small amp for tremolo I am assuming he used one pup for the mains and the other for the effects.

That is one piece of ad copy... What has Chris Squire and that story got to do with his '78 Rick? And vintage 60s Rick basses had 250k volume and 500k tone pots, not the 330k RIC uses now. Great pickups too.

Pat, yes Chris both played in stereo and rewired his RM with a stereo jack, way back when.
