Pick survey...

Which picks do you like to use with your Ric 6-string guitar? I've used Fender Medium tortise flat picks and like 'em okay, but they seem to wear out pretty quickly. I do like the bright tone and feel, and would like something similar (or with even brighter attack) but lasts longer. Any suggestions?

For guitar, Fender vintage-celluloid-style heavies, regular shape or equivalent for me. I use the soft corners for strumming and the point for picking. Just bought a dozen red sparkly ones. Alaska fingerpicks or acrylic nails for fingerstyle, with a Golden Gate thumpick (point somewhat shortened). Alternate thumbpicks: Zookies M30, Jim Dunlop metal thumbpick. For bass, an oversize triangular pick of 1.5 mm or better. Check 'em all out! The acrylic nails are awesome. 8)

I use Fender Mediums - the feel and flexibility of celluloid has yet to be improved upon, IMO.

Dunlop Tortex/Delrin .50mm (the red ones). They're too big, so I trim them down to a teardrop shape and round off the end. Tortex lasts forever and they are plenty bright.

That's the width I use as well.

I get them exclusively from www.intunegp.com with my custom printing on them. Great service, great owner. Check out his client list! When I still lived in VA I would stop by his shop when I could. It's in a pretty remote part of the state. I miss being able to pop in there.

Regular celluloid mediums. I like Tortex and its analogs (in heavier gauges) for bass, but nothing feels as good as celluloid for guitar.

That said, I have a bunch of slighly heavier plastic picks that came with some Eminence speakers I bought. Not my favorites but they seem to always be around. They are a little stiffer than I prefer, although they are good for acoustic guitar, which I tend to play harder.

I'm not picky (pun intended). As long as it's a medium, I'm happy.

I got one as a freebie from Steve Lasko when I ordered my Jangle Box. It's pretty light, maybe about 0.60 - 0.73 mm perhaps. It feels like one of those Dunlop Tortex plectra. I also use 2 Dunlop 0.18 mm finger picks worn on my middle and ring fingers.
