Plug a stereo 1/4 inch jack into my 330?

Basically, I've got 2 AC30's and I'm using a stereo y cable (the one from POTR) with my 370/12.

It awesome. However, when I play live, I use the 330/6 just as much and re-running different chords in the middle of the set is just NOT an option.

Can I plug the Y cable into the 330 and split the overal signal to the two amps?

I wouldn't think so, what you're looking for is a A/B box.

There's one out there with Peter Frampton's name on it that is apparently the bees knees.

To my knowledge, the 330 is a mono guitar, so plugging in a stereo jack will cut off one pickup and maybe bend your jack. If it doesn't have a rick-o-sound jack , it's mono and won't work. What tennis_nick suggests is probably the way to go.

There is probably a stereo output jack that could be wired to allow your splitter cable to send the same signal down each side, giving you dual mono. This way you wouldn't have to change cables, only guitars. If you always plan on using this setup, then maybe you could just put in a stereo output jack in your 330 that would split the pickups like the 370. Doing this would require you to always have to use a splitter/stereo cable to get both pickups, but would probably sound great in your current set up.

Yes you can, but the result will not be the same as with the 370. You will get both pickups going to both amps. I have verified this with my 330, a stereo y cable, and 2 amps.

There are also small cables that sum up stereo signals in to mono, and mono to dual mono. Rapco and Hosa make some that I know of, but can't vouch for how well it will work or sound for your application. Worth a shot if you can get a refund if it doesn't work.

Right, as I said above, you would have to fit your 330 with a stereo output jack wired to send one pickup to one side, and the other pickup to the other. This would, however, require using the stereo cable all of the time to get both pickups.

When you plug a stereo plug on a Y cable into a mono jack, you will get the sound of both pickups to one side of the Y, but most likely not the other side. If you want to send the sound of the guitar to two amps, you'd have to replace the stereo plug with a mono one - Solder the two inner conductors together to the tip connection of the plug.

I guess this is what finally steered me toward the 360.

Kris has addressed the crux of this issue--the fact that you can plug a stereo jack into a mono plug, but you'll only get one live ring output, not both.

You want to cut off the stereo plug on the "Y" and replace it with a mono, or simply buy a mono "Y" plug, which outputs the same signal to both branches of the "Y".

Probably best just to get a mono Y cable, as Paul suggested. They can be had cheaply enough. Then you can send the exact same signal to two amps. In order to send each pickup to a different amp. you'd need to modify the guitar's wiring.
