I'm thumbing my nose at the economy and going after the most ostentatious of 'em all. Got one?

Well...............................I have the Silver Falcon, which is the same basic model as a White Falcon except it's black with Silver Sparkle binding and trim instead of White with Gold Sparkle. It's the ultra glammy one with the bigsby, vertical Gretsch logo with wings, and engraved hump block fret inlays. It's a 2005 model.
I think it is just as ostentatious as it's White brother because Lord knows when I bring it out of the case, peoples eyes widen and the drooling begins.
Let me know if that might work for you.

Thanks Dan, but I've got black guitars. I'm going full-tilt wedding cake on this one. Unless you happen to have a Sonic Blue Falcon? I know, I know, it doesn't exist...yet.

No problem, I totally understand...........
You see, years ago I too felt the lure of what you refer to as the "Full Tilt Wedding Cake" and what Gretsch calls "The most beautiful guitar in the world. The heart wants what the heart wants! I have an original '64 double cut White Falcon that I bought a long time ago before vintage guitars got too crazy, it's not perfect, but it's mine, (and its not for sale). As the saying goes "they'll have to pry it out of my cold dead fingers".
Good luck with the hunt, they do come up on eBay. If you like the double cut re-issues, Daves Guitar (a great Ric Dealer) has a used one listed in his inventory for $1995.00.

I think most are, except for the super-expensive ones that are made in Fender's custom shop.

There's a good Gretsch dealer in Brooklyn NY. They have a White Falcon. Here's one of their ebay ads:

I've dealt with this place before and they are pretty good to deal with. You might want to check out the Falcons in person.

John, I bought a Gretsch Spectra Sonic Bass from them a while ago. No problems in dealing with them whatsoever.

Ah, damn! I have to check this one out Dan! Never knew you had it, that's one of the best looking guitars ever, IMO.
