Ok here's this week's to test you.

This act like many recorded under another name before settling on the name that would bring them fame.

This act were no exception.

During a two year period 66-67 this act notched up 9 top 40 entries in US including a number 1.

They had 6 hits in UK in same period.

It is possible that this album from which track is taken was only released after they achieved fame under another name
but definitely recorded before the hits period.

As some like to research bonus point if you can give famous name and name on this track.

Many thanks to those keeping this going.

This was Mamas And Papas and well done to those who also identified and corrected my info on what they were called on this track .

I had it as Magic Circle as that is album it is taken from but had I read more closely I would have noted that on this track they were called The New Journeymen, 4 managed to get this correct.
