What I really want is a Roger McGuinn thong. I think they're missing out, there's definitely a hole in the market.

Nah, I'm far too big a snob, I insist on "Rickenbacher" and proper (Swiss) German pronounciation!

Well, Adolph himself, proper Swiss German and all, said "Rickenbacker".

I thought his name was originally pronounced "bock", but was later changed to "back" to capitalize on the Fighter Ace Pilot "Rickenbacker"? At least that's what I remember reading in the big Rick book. Either way, by the time they really started making guitars, it was pronounced "back", even though so many of us know it as "bock". Kinda funny how it was changed to sound differently, but people generally pronounce it the original way without even knowing they are.

Incidentally, everytime I drive by Rickenbacker Airport on the south side of Columbus, Ohio, I wanna snake one of those "Rickenbacker" street signs. But, as it is over 95% of the time, there is nowhere to park the semi.

That's what we get for using a language with no set rules and five ways to pronounce any given vowel
