This is a rough recording I did a few weeks back. I'm on all instruments and vocals. The lapsteel is a 1947 S/NS and the bass is a 1980 4001 MG. The other instruments are a '44 Epiphone Zenith (pre-Gibson golden era Epi), a '50s Kay Banjo and a '50s Koch Chromatica harp.

This is sort of a folksy-bluegrassy tune about the Bell Witch from Tennessee. I plan on recording it again later, but the first run through sounded decent enough to share to get opinions.

Nice work. The song puts those old, vintage instruments in the right light. I'll be interested in hearing the completed version.

John, cool tune... I duno about the rerecording thou. Be a shame to loose the 'front porch conferrable' feel to it. A play-off when the other version is done would be neat!

Man, that gave me a great idea for a silly video. Static camera, 5 chairs on a porch and me playing all five instruments in different clothes... then superimpose/slice all of the video tracks. Ha!

Thanks for the compliments, guys. It's not fun writing music in a vaccuum, but when you can't find other musicians who want to play what you play, this is the only choice I have.

Sounds fine as-is. I can't think of anything I'd do to "improve" it. Nice dark feel to the tune.
