Fed-Ex transit...the waiting game

Anxiety sets in....I HATE it when a new addition to the family is in transit. Check the tracking every day, worry that it's not getting thrown about from place to place...especially when this is coming to me from Florida to North "Flooding" Dakota. Thankfully I'm not near the major flood areas (Bismarck and Fargo) but it still makes me tense.

After a few year hiatus, I'll be back in the Rickenbacker bass owners club and feel part of the group again!!! Can't wait!!! This time, I'LL NEVER SELL!!!

Jeff, still missing my baby :)

You did hear on the national news feeds about the Fed-Ex truck that skidded off the highway into the swollen river??

Did you ever hear about the time a FedEx van reversed into my mom's car?

Maybe if the truck does skid off the road it'll straighten those truss rods out!

Seriously; I know your pain and anxiety. Received an '08 4003FL from Wisconsin back in February. As long as it's packed well, those cases can take a multitude of sins. Not to worry!

Thanks John...I know, some of my post is fecetious but...at the same time, I do worry, especially since it's such a vintage bass. I won't be happy until it's here. lol.

Thankfully, I know the owner pretty well, and trust him completely....

EEEeeewwwwwww!!!!! You will like the tone of this one, and the way it plays, if it is stock and typical. If you think it sounds a tad thin, short the .0047uF cap in line with the bridge pup's tone control. Picks when it arrives and warms up properly!

This bass is completely stock. It's been very well taken care of. I'm looking for a McCartney tone and this is going to fit the bill. It's currently strung with TI flats, which is easy on the neck. I prefer Pyramids but I'm afraid the tension is too high for a '74 neck. I'm not taking that chance. The owner couldn't say enough about the neck....damn, I HATE WAITING

Congrat's Scott. I was hoping you'd get back here eventually. And I hope that your '74 is everything you want it to be.

If you ever get lovesick for your old girl, you have my permission to look her up and lust after her:

I hope you don't mind, but photo #3 was lifted from your eBay auction.

She's still pretty much perfect. I gigged her Friday and Saturday nights in Madison WI last weekend and got some positive feedback on her tone from one of the other acts.
