I scored a TR-50 210 the other night and I have a question about the footswitch.

There was not a footswitch with the amp and I can't seem to find any info on one. What does the footswitch control? I'm thinking channel and effects, maybe?!!

And..., a second question: where can I get a manual for the TR-50?

If I'm interpreting the schematic correctly, the footswitch is for toggling distortion and maybe reverb.

As for a manual, you're probably SOL, although it never hurts to call RIC.
