I think it is quite common for publishers to release an initial, lower priced production run in order to gauge the market. Sales data from the first run would allow the publisher to make a better estimate on numbers for the first major print run. I could be wrong but I've seen this happen over and over again where a book is available for a few months at a lower price, stops being available, then returns at a higher price and this time stays on the market. Has anyone else noticed this practice?jps wrote:I don't really see the price going up once it is published and selling.

Hmm, I suppose that can be, I have never looked into this. I can't see pre-ordering six months in advance, however.bails wrote:I think it is quite common for publishers to release an initial, lower priced production run in order to gauge the market. Wow, Paul! They chronicled your sound history, too?
